The Flowing Tide/The Neptune Bar
The Flowing Tide, a traditional Dublin bar with a theatrical clientele.
The Flowing Tide is an intimate, old style Dublin bar with a rich association with theatre through its proximity to the Abbey Theatre. Lying on the corner of Abbey Street and Marlborough Street, the bar is a popular Dublin haunt and is a favourite for many for a few relaxing pints and a bit of quiet conversation.
The Flowing Tide has recently been refurbished with the old snugs and cubbyholes replaced with an open plan bar which still retains the elegant atmosphere of the old bar. The Flowing Tide has beautiful stained glass windows with images from folklore and theatre and a collection of old theatrical posters and pictures signed by famous actors lining the walls. The actors from the Abbey Theatre are the bar's loyalist patrons and the bar is always buzzing with theatrical gossip and stories.
The Flowing Tide serves a very reliable and cheap pint of plain and a wide selection of Irish and International beers with friendly and very efficient service. The Neptune Bar is situated below The Flowing Tide and is very popular with a younger, trendier demographic into having a good time and listening to loud rock and roll.
So for a relaxed night or drinking check out The Flowing Tide or the kick off to a hectic night in Dublin city, The Neptune Bar.
