I Kamanchi
Bristol Drum'n'Bass legends DJ Krust and DJ Die with MC Tali hit Redbox on Friday 2nd of May.
Starting Friday May 2nd Basscape will be taking up a monthly residency at Redbox. With residents Kormac & Rosko, they'll be hosting a variety performance-based nights, with live acts, turntablists and the cream of foreign acts.
First up are Bristol's I-Kamanchi, stage name for Drum'n'Bass legends DJ Die and DJ Krust's live act, recently teamed up with Kiwi vocalist MC Tali, who will play Basscape's maiden night at Redbox.
Krust launched the Full Cycle label with Roni Size back in 1992 and DJ Die joined shortly after. Through Full Cycle, they have made numerous contributions to Drum'n'Bass, both individually and since 2000, together as Kamanchi (their first release as Kamanchi was on the V Recordings label in 1999).
DJ Krust's sounds play on the lighter side of darkness, occasionally playing with jazzy or ambient sounds, creating classics like Warhead, Kloaking Device, and Jazz Note.
DJ Die's darkened dance-floor sound has thrown up such wonders as Clear Skies, Jittabug and Drop Bear.
