It may be freezing, but with the sun starting to poke it's way through the clouds and a couple of brave birds daring to twitter their way through the icy winds, there's no denying that summer (or at least "Irish summer") is on it's way - and it's bringing festival season with it!
Festival fever has been gaining momenteum for the last few weeks, with the announcement of the BudRising line-up and the odd teaser-style dribble of information about other line-ups - but it's set to get into full swing when tickets for Oxegen 08 go on sale (and, no doubt, sell out) this Friday at 8am.

As well as all these fantastic acts, festival-goers can look forward to the return of the brilliant Festival Funfair, complete with giant ferris wheel, rollercoasters and dodgems! There'll also be some awesome circus performers who'll juggle, hula-hoop and stilt-walk their way through the weekend - wowing crowds around the site as they do.
The Bacardi B-Live arena is back this year too, offering an eclectic mix of music and Latin spirit accompanied by some mouth-watering Bacardi cocktails.
And keep an eye out for the very special Oxegen Festival Oxygen Bars, which will be on hand near the Dance Tent to offer festival goers a quick pick-me-up with five minutes of flavoured oxygen for €5 or 10minutes for €8 - the perfect cure for the morning after!
Campers will be pleased to know the fantastic food villages will return this year, providing a comfortable base to enjoy all sorts of yummy treats - from noodles and vegetarian delights to gourmet burgers and paella. And the Centra convenience stores will once again be located in the red and blue campsites, selling all those forgotten essentials such as suncream, wellies, toothpaste and even newspapers.
Campers in the red campsite will also have the option of feeling refreshed every day with the welcome return of the hot showers, but for some serious luxury-camping you might want to consider the green campsite - which will be kitted out with Yurts, podpads and teepees, allowing you to turn up to a ready made home for the weekend.
And image conscious OXEGEN fans will be happy to hear they no longer have to sacrifice style for rock'n'roll - there'll fully equipped mobile salons with mirrors and hairdryers to help ensure you stay looking your best throughout the weekend. There'll even be fully-trained staff on hand to pamper with a wash and blow-dry, if you really feel like indulging.
There'll be more fantastic onsite entertainment and facilities to be announced over the coming weeks, so WATCH THIS SPACE. In the meantime get those credit cards ready for Friday morning and brush up on your speed-typing, cos tickets for this fantastic event are sure to sell out quickly!
