Now, Marky Ramone is coming to Dublin to tell the fascinating story of the band that invented Punk Rock and changed the face of the music scene forever, as told by the man who brought the drum beat.
Marky Ramone delivers a no-holds barred tale of how four kids from Forrest Hills in Queens, New York, who turned the world upside down with revolutionary punk classics like "Teenage Lobotomy", "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "Rock N Roll High School".
The Ramones are recognised as the first punk rock band by cutting rock & roll down to its bare essentials, creating catchy melodies, speeding up the tempos and writing incredibly funny nihilistic lyrics. Decked out in leather and ripped up jeans, The Ramones first four albums set down the blueprint for Punk and influenced a whole generation of bands including The Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Dead Kennedys.
Former Voidoid Marc Bee replaced Tommy Ramone in 1977 and stayed with the band till the mid '80s, when he left for a few years. When Richie Ramone left the group, Marky Ramone rejoined The Ramones in the late '80s and stayed with them till they broke up in 1996. Johnny, Dee Dee and Joey have all passed away within three years of each other and Marky is one of the few remaining members of the band who can relate the fun and fury behind The Ramones music.
Complete with behind the scenes anecdotes, tales from around the globe and tons of incredible, high energy, rare and never before scene footage. Marky will also bring all the glory of The Ramones brilliant canon of punk classics in the company of Antiproduct.
