THE TEMPLE BAR FOOD MARKET TAKES PLACE EVERY SATURDAY FROM 10:00 - 16.30 MEETING HOUSE SQUARE
We all know the feeling - you've headed off to the out-door food market intent on stocking up on yummy fresh ingredients and healthy seasonal veg. Only with so many exciting options and tasty treats to chose from, it all gets a bit overwhelming and you wind up leaving with some fresh bread, four chunks of interesting cheese and a fancy-looking bottle of something you're not quite sure what to do with. Again!
Now, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with bread, cheese OR things in fancy bottles, but wouldn't it be nice to get a bit more out of your local food market every once in a while? Wouldn't it be nice to try new things you'd never even considered before, and know exactly what you SHOULD do with those unusual ingredients you pick up?
Of course it would! Which is why the smart folk at the Temple Bar Food Market, in association with Temple Bar Cultural Trust, have come up with an idea so brilliant it's got other food markets smacking themselves on the foreheads, going "now why didn't WE think of that".
They've designed a mouth-watering series of three-course dinner menus, designed to highlight the very best in seasonal food and showcase some of the tasty, fresh ingredients on offer trade every Saturday from 10.00 - 16.30 at Meeting House Square.
All you have to do is pick your copy of the menu from The Temple Bar Cultural Information Centre, or download the menu (either from the Temple Bar Cultural Trust Website, or by clicking on the PDF icon at the end of this page) then pop along to the market this Saturday and pick up everything you need to create a delicious three course meal.
On the menu for May is:
STARTER
Smoked Haddock Rarebit
MAIN COURSE
Rack of Rahara Lamb with herb crust
with
Dauphinoise Potatoes and Purple Sprouting Broccoli
Desert
Eve's Rhubarb Pudding
with
Vanilla Cream
