Ha'penny Bridge Inn
Ha'Penny Bridge Inn, an old style Dublin pub at the heart of Temple Bar.

The Ha'penny Bridge Inn is situated on Wellington Quay, on the south bank of the Liffey and is right next to two of Dublin's most famous landmarks, the Ha'penny Bridge and the Merchant's Arch. The Ha'penny as it is better known around Dublin is one of the few bars in the Temple Bar area to have retained its identity over the last decade. The owners have done little to change the décor of the bar, which has a musty '70's feel, with seating lining the walls, tables surrounded by stools and an old style bar surrounded by high stools.

The price of a drink is very reasonable for the Temple Bar area, their pint of Guinness is very tasty and the staff are friendly and don't let the customers wait around with their orders. The Ha'penny draws a mixed crowd of Dublin locals, tourists and trendy young clubbers and the atmosphere of the pub is an insight into how Temple Bar used to be feel before it had it's major makeover.

The Ha'penny's upstairs bar is a popular venue in the city and host a diverse programme of music and comedy events. The famous Dublin comedy night, Battle of the Axe takes place on Tuesday nights, the Ha'penny Laugh Comedy Club happens every Thursday night and you can see another comedy night Mount Cleverest on Sunday night.

So, for an authentic pint in the Temple Bar area topped off with a night of music or comedy, check out the Ha'penny Bridge Inn on Wellington Quay.
