Brogans
A favorite before and after the show at the Olympia, Brogans serves a good Guinness in an unpretentious atmosphere. Brogans is located in the centre of the city, on Dame Street. The bar is decorated in Guinness regalia to give the bar an old time feel but it does not need it, Brogans has a modern look but the unpretentious atmosphere of a traditional pub.

Brogans is situated in the trendy Temple Bar Area and is often used as a launch pad to a great night out in Dublin. Brogans sits between the Olympia Theatre and a number of fashionable restaurants and the bar is often filled with excited music fans on their way or coming from gigs or couples dressed up on their way for dinner.

Brogans is popular among the late '20s to early '40s set and the atmosphere in the pub is breezy and chatty. They serve a very nice pint of Guinness at inner city prices and have a large selection of beers to choose from. The main bar tends to get crowded on Friday and Saturday nights but if you hang around you tend to get a seat. Brogans also has a down stairs which features a mix of music, from the '70s, '80s and early '90s that betrays the age of many of the bar's customers.

Every Tuesday night Brogan's host the Poetry Slam night, Write & Recite, an open mic session where poets and punters can get up on the stage and compete against each other for a mystrery prize and coveted title of Grand Slam Poet. Entrance is free and the “Write & Recite” kicks off at 8.30pm. So, for a pub-crawl, after work drinks or night of poetry, Brogans is your only man.
