Zanzibar is a stylish superpub located on Lower Ormond Quay beside the Ha'penny and just across the river from Temple Bar. Decorated in an eastern style with exotic velvet cushions, palm trees and a collection of eastern paintings, this oasis of indulgence has become one the most popular night spots in Dublin in the last few years.
Zanzibar has a wide range of beers, a full bar menu and an extensive cocktail list. A lively spot at the weekend, the bar is usually buzzing with a clientele dominated by trendy '20 somethings. Zanzibar has a capacity for 1500 people with airy expansive bars on two levels. But at weekend nights try to get there before 8pm as it fills up quickly and you might have to queue in the cold.
Zanzibar has DJs spinning discs every night of the week. Monday to Wednesday features Fresh n Funky tunes, Thursday has an eclectic mix and Friday and Saturday revs up the night with a mix of classic motown, popular chart hits and cool retro. You can chill out on Sunday to a Jazz session starting at 8pm.
