The Market Bar
The Market Bar is yet another Superpub for Dublin city centre but this time with a great location - in the old sausage factory in the George's Street Arcade.

The sprawling red-brick Gothic structure that is the Arcade is one of the finest buildings in Dublin, so to secure a large Dublin pub premises here is something of a coup for the owners.

The entrance is off Cope Street, across the road from Hogans. You pass through a courtyard with tables and chairs and enter the warehouse-like Dublin bar.

The Market Bar has got plenty of seats around sturdy tables that get filled very quickly on any night after Tuesday. The redbrick and iron girder interior has been cleaned and restored - most noticeably in the middle arch, that has been almost entirely rebuilt.

The room is large and impressive, with a small sitting area with sofas upstairs. The ceiling is high, so smoke isn't a problem, but then again, I suppose that won't be an issue in a few months anyway. The service in The Market Bar is friendly and it's a pleasant place to be.
