One of the first modern bars to makes its mark on Parliament Street, The Front Lounge is a slick modern bar. The canopied entrance leads to a small bar at the front and a narrow area with comfortable velvet sofas leads to a wider raised area at the back with a larger bar. The walls of the bar feature works by contemporary Irish artists and the décor of the bar has an open design incorporating wonderful touches like a chandelier, a fountain and old music hall paraphernalia.

The Front Lounge opened in the mid '90s and was packed to the rafters with Dublin's trendiest and most stylish punters. The Front Lounge has also played a major part in a string of bars that successfully mix gay and straight patrons. Thus the atmosphere tends to be very relaxed, open and friendly with very helpful staff and a party atmosphere at the weekend. The Front Lounge serves a very nice pint of Guinness and always retains a very civilised air even in the busy summer season in Temple Bar.
