A very cool jazz bar that opens late and closes late.... The Viper Room is a jazzy, lounge bar situated on Aston Quay in Temple Bar. Like a bar in the East Village in Manhattan, The Viper Room does not open till 8pm when the bar slowly begins to fill. The décor of the bar has the feel of a '50s style LA club, with a plush interior, curvaceous bar and detached atmosphere of a singles bar. While most Temple Bar pubs are usually packed by 9pm, The Viper Room only really gets jumping around midnight. After 10pm, there is a charge but the bar stays open till 4am. The Viper Room provides live music of the jazz/funk/cabaret variety and a night of dancing with DJs playing a mixture of contemporary and classic dance music. The bar offers a wide range of beers and cocktails and the bar staff are very helpful. The Viper Room tends to pride itself on its exclusivity so you may find the doormen to be a trial. But once inside The Viper Room will prove to be an entertaining and unusual experience.
