The Old Stand is a historic Dublin pub situated at the junction of
Exchequer Street and St. Andrew Street.
The Old Stand is perfectly at the centre of Dublin's ragtrade and busiest shopping areas and is a favourite haunt of Dublin's financial sector frequented by bankers, stockbrokers and members of the legal profession.
The Old Stand has been operating as pub on this site for over three hundred years on one of Dublin's old medieval street. Numbered among their historic patrons are the 18th century cobbler and hilarious entertainer, John Travere and Irish revolutionary, Michael Collins who held informal meetings of the Irish Republican Brotherhood on the premises.
In keeping with historic nature of the bar, the décor of the premises is Victorian with a large Welsh dresser of Austrian wood and a large canopy island with Willow and Wedgewood artefacts. The bar staff are welcoming and they serve up a wonderful pint of Guinness. The clientele tends to be in their late '20s and early '30s as the bar is the perfect place to have a chat over a few relaxing pint.
