O'Donoghue's Bar is a cosy pub at the very heart of the city centre.
Situated around the corner from the busying thoroughfares of Grafton Street and Dame Street, O'Donoghue's is a satisfying blend of old boozer and a modern bar.
Up to a few months ago this bar was called Thingmote attracting a pleasant subsection of punters and shoppers during the day and a heady mixture of students and trendy suburbanites at night.
The owners decided to re-brand the bar as O'Donoghue's but thankfully things have only changed in name. The wooden décor has remained the same inside and the bar retains its easy and relaxed ambience. High chairs and tables populate the front of the bar while the lower seating at the back of the bar has the more laidback atmosphere of a lounge.
O'Donoghue's Bar has a lively atmosphere by night with friendly staff and a very satisfying pint of plain. Be warned it can get packed very quickly. But it is perfectly located to start or end a night's drinking, as it is just a stone's throw away from South William Street, Temple Bar, George's Street and Grafton Street.
A very pleasurable drinking experience, O'Donoghue's Bar is well worth a look.
