On a corner of the busy streets of Rathmines is a pub that is an oasis of calm and the name of that bar is Slattery's.

Slattery's is a traditional pub bar in the finest sense with an ornate old bar, a snug, a hallway with seating behind the bar and more interesting nooks and crannies than you can shake a stick at. There is no great design concept but there is a bar with great character seasoned by years of drink and conversation. If only the wall's could talk, as they say.

The staff are very quick and helpful and the bar is very well stocked with all those new fancy beers. The price of a pint plain won't break the bank and is quite tasty to boot. Slattery's also features an upstairs bar which doubles as a venue for jazz, songwriters and traditional music nights as well as the Peppers Comedy Improv Night on Tuesdays.

Well worth the walk to Rathmines, stop into Slattery's and whet your whistle with one of their soothing libations.
