Where the Truth Lies
Gripping Thriller delving into the mysterious murder of a young girl at the hands of two famous comedians.
Where the Truth Lies is a thrilling drama exploding with twists and turns during the final sequences. A young investigative journalist, Karen O'Connor (Alison Lohman) is hired as a ghost writer on the memoirs of a famous comedian, Vince Collins (Colin Firth).
Vince was half of a highly successful double act in the 1950's . He hasn't spoken to his comic partner, the outlandish Lanny (Kevin Bacon) in fifteen years. Their comedy act broke down directly after a young chambermaid was found dead in their bathtub suite in a hotel room.
Where the Truth Lies moves from the fifties when the murder took place to the seventies when Karen begins to write the memoirs and re-investigate the murder. Both men have different stories about the events that occurred fifteen years previously. Both men have different motivations for wanting the events to be ignored. Their evasive behaviour makes Karen all the more determined to unfold the truth.
Where the Truth Lies is brillantly complimented by Mychael Danna's grandly suggestive score, which mixes from varied sounds of the 50s and 70s into iconic pop tunes. This is a new departure for Director Atom Egoyan and certainly his most mainstream film.
Where the Truth Lies is an adult thriller that looks provocative enough to draw in most cinema goers.
Where the Truth Lies opens on Friday, 2nd December.
