Dublin International Film Festival!
Cinema Heaven for all those in Dublin running until 26th February.

The 4th International Dublin Film Festival is Dublin's genuine Cinema extravaganza with over 100 films, 50 guests, workshops, discussion events and a top level industry conference. The Dublin Film Festival  feature some fantastic seasons of film and some of the latest Golden Globe award-winning movies. Capote, Paradise Now, Syriana and Transamerica will all feature at this year's Dublin film festival.

Capote(Monday,20th Feb @81.15pm) won Philip Seymour Hoffman Best Actor at the Golden Globes and he is tipped as the hot favourite for Best Actor at the Oscars. This movie gives a riveting account of author Truman Capote's investigation into murders that inspired his non-fiction novel In Cold Blood.

Paradise Now won Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globes. This movie is a controversial story about two Palestinian childhood friends who have been recruited for bomb strike on Tel Aviv. Another of the Golden Globe winning movies to be screened is political thriller called Syriana. This new release stars George Clooney and was written by Oscar winning screenwriter Steven Gaghan.

Transamerica
will be showcased and Dublin audiences can enjoy an impressive performance from Felicity Huffman. This Desperate Housewives cast member has already won Best Actress at the Golden Globes. Transamerica has received acclaim worldwide for the story about a transvestite undergoing a sex change.

The Dublin Film Festival will be screening a wealth of BAFTA Nominees including Shooting Dogs and Tsoti. Other award winning movies to be screened at this year's festival include L'enfant (Wed 22nd Feb). This received the Palme d'Or at Cannes and depicts an irresponsible young criminal. The King (Sun 19th Feb)is a very interesting directorial debut by James Marsh. This movie details the dangers and power struggles that comes with fanatic religious conviction.

Guests attending the Dublin Film Festival include Emma de Caunes from Short Order (Anthony Byrne's directorial debut), Ralph Fiennes from The Countess and Julie Walters from Driving Lessons. The star of the closing film, The Ballad of Jack and Rose, Daniel Day-Lewis will also attend this last screening.

The 4th International Dublin Film Festival will be opened by a World Premier of Paul Mercier's Studs.
