Púca Puppets
Róisín agus an Rón (shadow puppet show)

Róisín befriends a seal, little knowing that when she is in danger he will change into a boy to save her. Written with humour and zest by poet Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, with music by Colm Ó Snodaigh of Kíla and Sound Artist, Slavek Kwi, this shadow show is the latest creation of award winning Púca Puppets.

The evening's events are set against the tatty glitzy glamour, flashing lights and pulsating beat of the night-club scene.

This double bill is part of an evening that includes dinner at the 30ft table where the plays are performed. The first show, Raccoon, is a poignant, lyrical tale of small town Irish life. Saoirse, a waitress in a small café, doesn't know who she is or where she comes from but by a bizarre chance encounter in her café she is offered the opportunity to reconstruct her past and her future. In The Exit Wound, the audience members become eavesdroppers on the homecoming party from hell as Hugh - an itinerant singer / storyteller who has ruled his family in absentia for over 40 years - finally arrives home and Granddaughter Julia is the only one strong enough to resist the myth and see the man.The ticket price includes admission to both shows and interval dinner.

Eric Lalor was walking through Ballymun shopping centre in Dec 2004 when he saw a poster looking for any wannabe stand-up comedians who fancied doing comedy workshops. He went along to an audition, got picked, did a documentary called 'Joy in the Hood' with Des Bishop and the rest is history. Since working with Des, Eric, a proud son of the 'Mun has climbed the comedy rankings faster than a monkey up a ladder on speed. He is now at a crossroads, ready to step out of the comforts of the IT corporate world, and take a risk with his own solo show. The Lalorpalooza show is his first ever solo show - one man, one show, one hour... can he come out victorious?
