Jimmy Carr is a renaissance man in the world of comedy, a brilliant gag writer, a wonderfully dry performer and a very popular TV presenter.

Jimmy Carr had originally intended to work in the world of marketing after graduating from Cambridge but thankfully he turned to comedy and has never looked back. His first solo show Bare Faced Ambition gained him a Perrier nomination in 2002 and the following year saw him winning Time Out's Award for Best Stand-Up. In 2003 he sold out an entire month's performances of his Edinburgh show Charm Offensive by the second day of the festival.

Jimmy Carr also started to build a career in TV as a presenter of the prime-time gameshow Distraction and the successful hit game show Your Face Or Mine. Carr has presented Have I Got New For You, appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and has been a guest on Parkinson. Carr is a prolific gag writer and his writing credits include Bo Selecta! and Meet Ricky Gervais as well as writing for Lily Savage and Frank Skinner.

Having won over audiences and comedy critics all over the UK, Carr has brought his stand-up show to international audiences at comedy festivals like Montreal's Just For Laughs, the International Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen and the Cat's Laugh in Killkenny.

A master at the witty one-liner, Jimmy Carr plays the Olympia Theatre on 8th and 9th of September.
