AT LAST, THE 1989 SHOW!
Venue: The Screening Room @ The Odessa Club
Date: 3rd July (First Thursday of Every Month)
Time:
21.00
Admission: €10 (FREE to Odessa Club Members)

On 3rd July Dermot Carmody and Morgan C. Jones present the third At Last The 1989 Show! in The Screening Room at The Odessa Club.

The musical duo have been hugely busy in the last few months, winning over a wider audience with their recent Late Late Show appearance (not many more people, just a couple of very wide ones) and subsequently hosting the inaugural Dermot Morgan Fund concert at Vicar Street.

They've also been hitting the music and lyrics pretty hard, creating several new numbers to revitalise the regulars' palettes in the latest of their monthly music and comedy cabaret shows. Ireland's rejection of the Lisbon Treaty and the behaviour of the elderly on Facebook will be covered fully and frankly.

And as if that wasn't enough, the pair will also be joined by very a special guest , the brilliant actor / comedian / puppeteer Conor Lambert! Fresh from his stint on Fair City, Conor and his psychotic feline sidekick recently made their 1989 Show debut, and are back by popular demand to thrill and amuse the audience! joined.

So don't miss out! Catch the finest mix of stand-up, improv and musical comedy in town with AT LAST, THE 1989 SHOW! at The Odessa Club on 3rd Juky, and the first Thursday of every month!

ABOUT THE HOSTS

Dermot Carmody started comedy life in 1988 when he co-founded The Comedy Cellar comedy club in Dublin's International Bar along with Barry Murphy, Kevin Gildea, Alex Lyons, Karl McDermott, Ardal O'Hanlon and other villains. In 1989 he came up with "The 1989 Show!" but due to problems with availability and focus the show was temporarily shelved. Carmody went on to gig in every comedy club and festival in Ireland and the UK, do telly, do radio, invent 2irish.com (the web site and the radio show) along with "1989_ co-conspirator Morgan C. Jones, write the comedy column in Hotpress magazine for a year, improvise like the blazes with The Dublin Comedy Improv.

Morgan C. Jones started his career as a stand up comedian, took a left turn as a television actor, arrived at theatre, got lost on the way out; went back to stand up to see if anyone had found his jacket - was told to look where he last remembered wearing it; went back to television to discover that he had left his jacket there, but that in his absence it had been developed as a twenty six episode agricultural soap opera and was regularly appearing on daytime TV as an agony garment. In addition to stand-up, telly, stage & radio (notably with Roger Greggs fantabulous "Crazy Dog Audio" productions), Morgan is one half of the "2irish News" team.
