Prepare for a workshop of epic propostions this May, as the National Gallery of Ireland invites you to make a scene as you delve into Greek and Roman mythology this fantastic FREE weekend of drama, comedy and improv!
Hosted actor and stand-up comedian Ciaran McMahon, this fantastic weekend will give participants the chance to take a explose of the stories and themes from Greek and Roman mythology, before taking the tales to a whole new level through improvised role-plays. These can be anything you want - enactments of short scenes from the Greek Comedies, Tragedies and Dramas, or even your own modern day spin on these classic tales. The only limit is your own imagination (and the laws of physics. Also, some time restrictions and the fact that there aren't many props. Other than that, anything goes)!
At the end of the first day, the group will choose their favourite scenes, themes and pieces to perform on the second day. But if you're the sort of person who'd rather go head to head with a gorgon than tread the boards, don't worry! It's an optional performance, so you can always just sit back and enjoy the show.
