The Magic Numbers, melodic indie pop group, play The Village on Friday, the 3rd of June.
Heavenly Record's new signing, The Magic Numbers are set to be the band of 2005.
The Chemical Brothers like the band's sunny '60s sound so much, they invited them to play on their last album. Now you can bask in the sunshine, when The Magic Numbers make their BudRising debut at The Village on the 3rd.
The Magic Numbers' sound is built around the musical talents and songwriting of Romeo Stodart. Stodart was born and raised in Trindad, moved to New York with his family when he was a teenager and later moved to London. In London, he met drummer Sean and they began making music and penning latter-day pop classics.
To complete The Magic Number's line-up, Romeo enlisted his talented sister, Michele on bass and vocals, while Sean's sister Angela took up percussion, melodica and third vocals. Together they crafted a sound that melds the songwriting of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, with the sweet harmonies of The Mamas and Papas and The Lovin Spoonful, and the music experimentation of The Flaming Lips and Beck.
Heavenly Records caught wind of The Magic Numbers' progress and signed the band on the back of such well crafted, feel good songs like "Hymn For Her", "Anima Sola" and "Forever Lost". The band set tongues wagging in the live scene with support slots for The Doves, Athlete and Travis and a host of sold out shows. The Magic Numbers have just begun their biggest ever headlining tour, showcasing songs from their debut album, which is due out later this year.
The Magic Numbers BudRising concert will also include performances by Joe Chester and Jessie & Layla.
