Shout Out Louds & The Morning After Girls play Whelans on Thursday, the 13th of April.
Shout Out Louds bring their infectious brand of indie pop to BudRising Spring with a concert in Whelans in the company of The Morning After Girls.
Formed in Stockholm in 2001, Shout Out Louds comprises the musical talents of childhood friends, Adam on vocals, Ted on bass, Carl on guitar joined by Eric on drums and Bebban on keyboards.
Merging '60s pop and '80s indie rock, Shout Out Louds began creating a magical pop sound reminiscent of Belle & Sebastian, Arcade Fire and New Order. Having written three songs, Shout Out Louds recorded their first demo which caught the attention of Filip Wilén who immediately signed the band to his label, Bud Fox Recordings.
Shout Out Louds spent the next two years touring around Scandinavia while releasing their debut EP, 100º and a brace of singles including "Hurry Up Let's Go", "Shut Your Eyes".
In the latter half of 2003, Shout Out Louds released their debut album, Howl Howl Gaff Gaff featuring sparkling new tunes like "The Comeback", "There's Nothing" and "Seagull".
Having created a major stir on the Swedish music scene, Shout Out Louds began taking their live sound around the world performing in London and America while releasing unforgettable singles like "Very Loud/Wish I Was Dead", "Please, Please, Please" and the Oh Sweetheart EP.
Shout Out Louds proved to be so popular that EMI signed the band and re-released their debut last year to a raft of glowing reviews as the band continued to build on their legion of fans with their scintillating live shows.
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, The Morning After Girls create the kind of psychedelic art pop forged in Andy Warhol's Factory by The Velvet Underground with generous sonic helpings of The Jesus and Mary Chain and Joy Division.
