Harry Hill, the hilarious absurdist comic genius, brings his new show Hooves to Vicar Street on Friday, the 21st of October.
Harry Hill brings his new show, Hooves to Dublin featuring Stouffer (the Channel 4 Cat), Gary (Harry's son from his first marriage), Harry Hill Senior and TV Showband, The Harrys. Forgoing the world of badgers for his new show, Harry will instead reveal his fabulous insights into the horse, Nan.
Harry Hill is better known to his family and friends as Matthew Hall. He originally trained to be a doctor but gave it up in 1992 to enter the world of comedy. Taking to the stage in an ill fitting suit, bald, bespectacled and sporting a tasty pair of bottle creepers, Hill was an instant success and went on to win The Perrier Award for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival.
Harry Hill has an irresistible brand of stand-up with quirky and strange observations and brilliant catch phrases. His stand-up is delivered at break neck speed with a wonderful surrealist streams-of-consciousness that refers forward and back to different points, until he ties up the hilarious, unholy mess at the end of the show.
Harry Hill next move was to take his comedy stylings on to the radio with Harry Hill's Fruit Corner and Fruit Fancies. This led to three successful series of the Harry Hill comedy show on Channel Four before Harry moved to ITV for TV Burp. But all the bright lights and special effects of the TV studio can beat Harry Hill as a comedy performer on stage.
Harry Hill's comedy is best experienced live, where the punchlines are more rapid, his imagination is allowed to flow and his unstoppable energy has the audience in hysterics. An forgettable night of surrealist comedy, Harry Hill plays Vicar Street on the 21st.
