Dylan Moran
Dylan Moran, brilliant comic and star of Channel 4 comedy 'Black Books', plays Vicar Street on the 27th and 28th of May.

Dylan Moran has been delighting comedy audiences around the world for the last decade with his charmingly, feckless persona. His comic pontifictions on stage are punctuated with a fag in one hand and a drink in the other. Dylan's personal demeanour always gives the impression that he just woke from a hangover and raced to the venue having forgotten that he was doing the gig. His ability to rest brilliant observations and little philosophies from everyday life makes him one of the most engaging and funniest comics around.

Moran was born in Navan, County Meath in 1971. He left school at the age of 16 with no qualifications and spent four aimless years 'drinking and writing bad poetry”. He caught the comedy bug in his early '20s when he saw Ardal O'Hanlon performing at the Comedy Cellar in the International. He took his first tentative steps at stand-up in the Comedy Cellar two years later and won the 'So You Think You're Funny' award at the Edinburgh Festival the following year. Moran's rapid recognition as a comic talent saw him become a popular face on the UK comedy circuit with his devil-may-care comic musings.

Moran won the Perrier Award in 1996 at the Edinburgh Festival at the tender age of 24. He followed that success with his first stand-up tour of the UK in 1997. Moran's acting credits include the BBC2 sitcom How Do You Want Me?, the romantic blockbuster, Notting Hill,  The Actors with Michael Caine and most recently the comedy, Shaun of the Dead. His comedic talents really came to the fore in the Channel 4 show Black Books, a sitcom written by Moran and Graham Linehan about a misanthropic, alcoholic book shop owner. Guaranteed to be a night of infectious, sidesplitting humour, Dylan Moran plays Vicar Street on the 27th and 28th of May.
