A Draíocht regular, Johnny McEvoy is one of the gentle journeymen of Irish folk music and has been performing now for over four decades. At 21 he achieved instant fame with his hit record Muirsheen Durkin which topped the charts at Number 1 for three consecutive weeks. Hit after hit followed, and in 1966 in Dublin Johnny played support to an up and coming band The Rolling Stones.
