50 Foot Wave
50 Foot Wave, Kirstin Hersh new rock group, plays The Village on Monday, the 27th of September.

Last year the indefatigable Kirstin Hersh released her fifth solo album The Grotto, an all-new Throwing Muses record, Throwing Muses and also found time to record with her newest project, 50 Foot Wave. 50 Foot Wave has an intense rock bite with the most direct, hard hitting sound Kirsten Hersh has ever produced and they bring their blistering live show to The Village at the end of September.

50 Foot Wave comprises the music talent of Kirstin Hersh on guitar and vocals, Throwing Muses bassist Bernard Georges and drummer Rob Ahlers. 50 Foot Wave is propelled by Kristin's wall of sound guitar and feral vocals, Bernard's undulating bass and Ahlers ferocious and unbridled drumming. The trio are tight and powerful, creating music that is precise, emotional and always about to tether over the edge.

50 Foot Wave opened one of the their early rehearsals to 120 fans who came from far and wide to eat pizza, drink bear and check out the band. Since then 50 Foot Wave has built up a reputation as an overwhelming live experience with extensive touring, chalking up 100 dates a year in the US alone. Rather than producing a full-length studio album every two years, the band has decided to release five or six song recordings every nine months.

A towering rock & roll band, 50 Foot Wave play The Village on the 27th.
