Felix Da Housecat, internationally renowned Chicago DJ, plays the Spirit Dance Arena at Oxegen 2006 on Sunday, the 9th of July.
Over the last two decades, Felix Da Housecat has remixed for Madonna, Garbage and New Order, DJed at gigs at the world's most prestigious music festivals and dropped a number of seminal albums.
Felix Stallings earliest musical influences include '70s funk and soul artists like Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind & Fire but the time he hit his teens he was emersed in the House music revolution. By the age of 14, Felix was recording house music on his four track and after collaborating with Chicago legend, DJ Pierre released the classic house track, "Phantasy Girl".
After two years in college, Felix returned to music, rekindling his friendship with DJ Pierre and began mixing and producing. Felix took his music to London and scored a hit with "Thee Dawn" on William Orbit's Guerilla label and cemented that success with the release of "Thee Underground Made Me Do It" and "In Thee Dark We Live".
The latter track was released as Aphrohead, one of Felix's many production aliases which have come to include Wonderboy, Rocketmann, Outerrealm, Thee Glitz and Thee Maddkatt Courtship. Felix scored an album deal with Deep Distraxion in 1993 and released By Dawn's Early Lite and two years later he started Radikal Fear records and released four albums in one year.
In 1997, Felix played Switzerland where he met Miss Kitten and David the Hustler and they began collaborating on the Kittenz & Thee Glitz album. After winning album of the year from Muzik Magazine, Felix brought his remix and production skills to the songs of the Pet Shop Boys and Nina Simone.
The critically acclaimed album, Devin Dazzle and the Neon Fever saw Felix mining punk and post new-wave culture with a live band on infectious tracks like "What She Wants" and "Rocket Ride".
A set of non-stop grooving, Felix Da Housecat plays the Spirit Dance Arena at Oxegen.
