The National Chamber Choir perform the a concert from their Winter Series at the National Gallery on Thursday, the 18th of November.
The National Chamber Choir is one of Ireland's premiere chamber ensembles and was formed by the internationally renowned conductor and composer, Colin Mawby in 1991. Celso Antunes, the Cologne based conductor, became the choir's new artistic director and chief conductor in 2002. The 17 singers who make up this highly motivated professional choir are some of the finest young voices in the country. The National Chamber Choir has received high praise for the beauty and warmth of its sound and the vivacity of its performance.
The National Chamber Choir give upward of 60 live concerts a year both at home and abroad. The Choir have performed with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the RTÈ Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. In the last few years, The National Chamber Choir has performed concerts in Sweden, Germany and Brazil as well as performing on broadcasts for Lyric FM, BBC Radio 3 and RTÈ television.
As part of their busy concert schedule, the National Chamber Choir will perform a Winter Series in the National Gallery of Ireland. The Winter Series features three composers who has chosen a composer that he deems 'immortal' and British conductor, Terry Edwards has selected works by Carlo Gesualdo di Venosa.
On the 18th of November, the Choir's programme will include works by Carlo Gesualdo di Venosa, Peter Eotvos and Peter Warlock. Don't miss this chance to hear the beautiful voices of The National Chamber Choir at the National Gallery.
