Good Charlotte
Good Charlotte, post grunge punk popsters, play the Olympia Theatre on the 29th and 30th of March.
Due to phenomenal demand Good Charlotte have had to add a second Olympia date for their Irish fans.
Good Charlotte took embryonic shape when brothers, Joel and Benji Madden decided to start their own band after seeing a Beastie Boys concert in 1995. The two brothers put Good Charlotte together combining the musical talents of Joel on vocals, Benji on guitars, Paul Thomas on bass and Chris Wilson on bass. Good Charlotte soon formed a reputation for the kind of punk pop of Green Day and Blink 182 alongside more mainstream rock ballads.
Good Charlotte released their debut album in 2000 featuring punk pop songs such as "Little Things" and "Complicated". The Madden Brothers started presenting on MTV and got great exposure on the network's late night rock show, All Things Rock. In 2002, Good Charlotte released their second album, The Young & the Hopeless and two singles of the album, "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" and "Anthem" catapulted the band into the pop mainstream.
Good Charlotte became international stars with their third album, Chronicles Of Life And Death with two massive hit singles, "I Just Wanna Live" and "Predictable". The album flew straight into the No.1 spot in Australia and No.5 in the US and Japan and won the band a nomination for Best Rock Act at the MTV European Music Awards.
