The Go! Team bring their wonderful collage of musical styles to Oxegen 2006 on Saturday, the 8th of July.
Having treated their Dublin fans to a block party riot at last year's festival, The Go! Team make a welcome return to the Oxegen Music Festival for a show stealing performance on Saturday.
The Go! Team fearlessly mix up different music styles to create an exciting and challenging brand of modern indie pop. The Go! Team's sound could be described as a cross between the art rock of Sonic Youth, the symphonic pop of The Shangri-Las and the in-your-face rap style of the great Roxanne Shante.
The Go! Team is a 50/50 boy-girl band with Sam Dook on guitar, Chi on drums, multi-instrumentalist Silke, Jamie Bell on bass, Ninja on vox and bandleader Ian P on electric guitar and messed up harmonica. Having caused a massive stir with their singles 'Junior Kickstart' and 'the Power is on', The Go! Team revealed the genre defying delights of their debut album, Thunder Lightning Strike to the world.
Thunder Lightning Strike is the sound of a band sampling and experimenting with a breath taking number of musical styles and having great fun in the process. The album features the trashy northern soul of "Panther Dash', the NY block party feel of "Bottle Rocket" and the new wave wall of sound that is "Huddle Formation".
Promising to be one of the surprise hits of the festival, The Go! Team play Oxegen on Saturday, the 8th.
