Ireland's leading Hammond organ trio - Organics - are heading to Germany on the 11th of May to record their second album, and they're celebrating with a fantastic going-away gig in Anseo on the 7th.
Formed in 1997, Organics are unarguable one of the most exciting acts to emerge from Irish jazz scene in recent years. Over the years, they've evolved an exciting and unique sound all of their own, winning over crowds at concerts and festivals around Ireland, and earning critical acclaim for their performance with saxophonist Bobby Watson (of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers) at the 2004 Cork Jazz festival. They've also performed as the jam-session house band at the Cork International Jazz festival, supported Gil Scott-Heron in Vicar Street, and opened for Swedish piano trio E.S.T, the legendary Herbie Hancock's 'Headhunters' and electronic pioneer Bugge Wesseltoft (at The 2005 Bud Rising Festival).
