This Japanese restaurant located beside Stephens Green Shopping Centre focuses on positive and healthy living. Wagamama has a strict non-smoking policy. Disposable chopsticks made from Bamboo are used as Bamboo is a readily renewable source with little environmental damage.
Wagamama is a relatively inexpensive, efficient and friendly Japanese noodle bar modelled on the Ramen shops that have been popular in Japan for over two hundred years. The informal seating is basic, but more than adequate in the form of long tables and benches. This is handy if you've a large group to squeeze in.
The waiters and waitresses scribble your order on your paper place mat and off you go. A great old staple is the Wagamama Ramen - soup noodles with a boiled egg, prawn, crabstick, tofu, slices of chicken, naruto, wakame, spring onions and menma. (€10.95) Another personal favourite is the chicken Katsu curry of a chicken fillet deep-fried in breadcrumbs, served in a curry sauce and japanese rice with lettuce abd red pickles (€10.95). A great sidedish is the gyoza of five grilled chicken dumplings filled with cabbage, chinese chives& water chestnut in a red chilli and garlic sauce. (€6.50). To drink, they have bottled Japanese beer, sake, a very popular and almost poitin-like Japanese liquer, a small wine list and a selection of toxin-busting juices.
