This five star Dublin Hotel has just won the 2004 Afternoon Tea Awards in conjunction with Barry's Tea.
The Merrion Hotel offers an excellent selection of restaurants and bars to choose from. The highly reputable Patrick Guilbaud restaurant is just next door and the Cellar Bar is a delicious location for Dublin dining. One of the most enjoyable dining experiences at the Merrion is Afternoon Tea and it comes as no surprise that this five star hotel has recently received awards for this event.
Afternoon Tea takes place in the Drawing Rooms which are quaintly situated overlooking two of the period gardens. These rooms are beautifully decorated in traditional Georgian style with spectacular plasterwork on the ceilings and impressive carved doorcases. The Drawing Rooms are adorned with subtle colours, rich silks nicely complimented by faded linens and the walls are donned with priceless paintings from the Hotel's private art gallery.
The Afternoon Tea menu runs from 3-6pm. This attractive menu offers a quaint selection of assorted tea breads, miniature French pastries, freshly baked scones and assorted finger sandwiches with Viennese bridge rolls. Customers can choose a pot of tea of their choice from a large selection. A glass of Taittinger Brut NV Champagne may also be sample with your Afternoon Tea and prices range from €28.00.
The Drawing Rooms at the Merrion in Dublin are the perfect venue for a hot cuppa on a cold winters day. Enjoy the luxurious views, splendid décor and delicious snacks.
