This May, Ireland's most important Children's Books event for adults, The Children's Book Festival Conference, returns for its 18th outing to discuss with a fantastic panel of authors, illustrators and academics from Ireland, Germany, Denmark, the US and the UK.
This year's theme is Voices in Children's Books, and panellists will be discussing everything from translation and oral narrative to teenage reading habits and finding your own voice in storytelling.
The weekend will also feature the CBI Award Presentation in recognition of outstanding contribution and achievement in the field of children's literature (hosted by the Dublin Print Museum). Previous winners include Robert Dunbar, Liz Morris, Tony Hickey and Caroline. The nominees are a closely guarded secret, so if you're itching to find out who's on the list you'd better book your place at the conference soon, as places are filling up fast!
For a full timetable, more information on the speakers and details on how you can get your chance to talk at the conference, check out the CBI website.
