¡VIVA! Spanish Film Festival!

Running from 17th-27th March at the Irish Film Institute in Dublin.

Dublin's Spanish Film Festival thats better known as ¡VIVA!  returns to the Irish Film Institute. Twelve riveting and eclectic titles will be screened at this Spanish film festival.

This year's ¡VIVA!  continues with the inclusion of Latin American films and an exciting selection of movies from Mexico, Colombia and Argentina are included in the programme.

The Irish Film Institute hope to welcome at least one of the filmmakers to a screening at ¡VIVA!.  This popular Dublin film festival will open with Daniel Burman's prize-winning  Lost Embrace (El abrazo partido). The off-beat directorial debut from 23 year-old Ciro Guerra comes from Colombia with The Wandering Shadows telling a story of the unlikely relationship of two outcasts.

Sports aficionados should enjoy the first full-length film to be produced by a soccer club, Real-The Movie. A poignant story called Innocent Voices about a young boy's distressing experiences during the war in El Salvador in the eighties is worth seeing.

The majority of screenings at ¡VIVA! will be Irish premieres
providing filmgoers with an alternative to mainstream cinema. ¡VIVA! is an exciting opportunity for Dublin cinemagoers and the Spanish community to see some exceptional films.
