Whoever coined the term "sibling rivalry" obviously forgot to mention it to Joy and John Gerrard, the fantastically creative and mutually supportive brother and sister who have been taking the art world by storm since the late 90s.
While the pair have separate careers, and very different styles, the one common trait that stands out in their work is a huge interest in important, global issues. Whether it's the crowd shifting from a secure shared space towards possible violence in Joy's drawing Protest Crowd 3, or the swirling mass of black cloud hovering over Kansas in John's real-time 3D piece Dust Storm, both siblings presents nature and humanity as powerful, unpredictable and uncontrollable forces to be reckoned with.
So catch their joint exhibition at Temple Bar Gallery & Studios from 12th April - 24th May and enjoy the works this remarkably talented family for yourself. Mama and Papa Gerrard must be so proud!
