Powerscourt Shopping Centre
Powerscourt is a speciality shopping centre with lots of fashion and restaurants, art galleries and antiques.

It is a very unique shopping centre in Ireland as the majority of shops found are exclusive to the centre. Powerscourt has always been renowned for it's fashion particularly as it's the home to Ireland's Design Centre. Celebrating 20 years in business, the Design Centre runs fashion shows twice a year promoting the styles of Irish designers. FCUK, Karen Millen and Lipsy which is famous for debutante dresses, are all located on the ground floor. Eden Park which is a French Franchise and XX by Mexx which stocks younger fashion, are also based on the ground floor. Genius sells famous brands such as Diesel and is situated at the front of the centre leading out onto Clarendon Street.

There are two Bridal shops; Town Bride and Ciara Bridal and in both outlets its possible to get dresses designed. There are a choice of jewellers, Emma Stewart Liberty who specialises in silver, Michael Perry who specialises in diamonds and Patrick Flood who is a general jeweller and will design on site. Equinox and Appleby's are also downstairs.

The Antiques section has remained a central point of the centre since it opened 20 years ago. Courtville Antiques, Silver Shop and Delphi Antiques who deal in silver, porcelain and jewellery are some of the quality shops present in the centre. The Hair and Beauty section includes Buttercups, Pzazz, Colour Me Beautiful and Wigwam.

Shopping for presents is easy as Powerscourt has a choice of gift shops. Concepts sells John Rocha crystal and different types of glass. Bonsai which has its own tree hospital, will give you advice on how to look after your tree. Engraver (Universal Workshop) is very popular for Christmas gifts and there are two stalls selling crystals and jewellery on the ground floor. A new Brazilian Sportswear shop has opened called Brazil Body selling top of the range sportswear.

The restaurants within the centre are very popular. Mimo's is a general café on the ground floor with a champagne bar. There's an American deli called Chompys serving speciality bagels. One of the newest restaurants is La Corte which is a popular Italian restaurant on the top floor looking over the courtyard. Café Fresh is a reputable vegetarian restaurant and draws a lot of people as does the night course on vegetarian cooking which is taught by the restaurant owner. Gloria Jeans Coffee Shop does a roaring trade selling coffee beans and takeaway coffee.

Culture is a very important aspect of the Powerscourt Shopping Centre. The Solomon Art Gallery show exhibitions from Suzanne McDouglad every month. On the Top Floor the Peoples Art Hall, which is a Co-op of about 30 artists work can be seen. Lunchtimes between 12-3pm on Thursday and Friday's there is an easy listening piano recital. For the month of December a jazz session will be performed for Sunday Brunch.

The centre was built in 1760 as a townhouse for Lord Powerscourt and has one of the finest staircases in Dublin. It's one of the most intact Georgian House and is quite a tourist attraction aswell as a unique shopping centre.

Powerscourt Center have recently launched their new website - www.powerscourtcentre.com.  This is your one stop shop for gifts for all occassions, Powerscourt Centre are selling their vouchers online and they are redeemable in any shop, bar or restaurant in the centre.
