10,000 food lovers can't be wrong, so Dunlaoghaire Rathdown County Council must be doing something right with their weekly CoCo Markets (CoCo - county council, get it?)! Hosted in Dalkey Heritage Centre, Marley Park and The People's Park, Dun Laoghaire these markets host dozens of stalls each, allowing local farmers and other food producers to bring fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, flowers, ethnic fare, sweet and savoury treats to the public.
The CoCo Market management works with the vendors to make sure customers can be guaranteed fresh, healthy and additive-free food every week. And as most of the stalls at the markets are owned by the farmers, growers, and producers themselves, customers even have to chance to ask questions and find out more about the ingredients, processes and production techniques used in making their food.
So whether food is a passion or just a flirtation, whether you want to stock up you cupboards or simply imply wander around with a raw juice and a falafel in hand to enjoy the colourful tapestry of farmers fare, crafts and cooking, be sure to check out the CoCo markets for delicious aromas, the heady market day atmosphere and a fantastic community spirit.
