The Chieftains
Formed in the early 1970s out of Ceoltóirí Chualann, a traditional music ensemble founded by Sean O Riada (1931-1971), the Chieftains went on to gain vast and enthusiastic audiences all over the world for Irish traditional music and are still going strong.

Their collaboration with renowned  international singers and musicians as well as writing and playing scores for several successful feature films has maintained  their popularity and reputation at a high level.  The Chieftains played on the Great Wall of China in 1983.  The members are Paddy Moloney, Martin Fay, Sean Keane, Kevin Conneff, Derek Bell and Matt Molloy. Derek Bell, after a minor operation in  the USA, sadly passed away in October 2002.
