The Cow Parade
Cows grazing in the city streets? It's happening this summer in Dublin!

When U2 were awarded the Feedom of Dublin City, they took advantage of a long-standing statute allowing freemen to graze their flock in St Stephen's Green.

Well, this summer there'll be cows grazing in the Green for the first time since it became a public park (originally it was a pasture). But these cows will also be found in the Docklands, in Temple Bar… all over the city in fact.

The Cow Parade is coming to Dublin.

150 grazing, lolling, and standing (upright, that is) bovines will be dotted around the city this summer.

Following the first Cow Parade in Zürich, there have been hundreds of cows spotted in Aukland, Brussels, several cities across the US and lots more cities worldwide. Local artists will be decorating the cows, and at the end of the Parade, the cows will be auctioned off in aid of the Simon Community and the Jack and Jill foundation.

Artists involved in the Dublin Parade include Bobby Ballagh, Graham Knuttel, Paul Regan, and Kevin Sharkey (who will call his cow "Mooo...lah" and says he's going to cover her with almost €18,000 in cash...).

The Cow Parade will be starting on the 30th of June and will run until the 16th of September.
