Tailors' Hall, Back Lane
Tailors' Hall was built in 1706 for the Guild of Tailors but the building was also hired out to other guilds and organisations.

In 1792 the Catholic Committee, passed through its gate to discuss petitioning the Dublin Parliament to relax the Penal Laws. Their gatherings gave the place the sobriquet "The Back Lane Parliament". Revolutionaries planning the 1798 rising also gathered within its walls as did such diverse societies as the Freemasons and the Legion of Mary. Facing an uncertain future Tailors' Hall in 1983 found gracious and caring new tenants in the form of An Taisce, The National Trust for Ireland. An Taisce have painstakingly restored the building and it now serves as their headquarters.
