It is located on the top floor of the Powerscourt Shopping Centre. Owner Mary Farrell trained as a chef, starting out in the Well Fed Café on Crowe Street and has gained experience working in France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Australia.

Café Fresh has a wide variety of main meals all costing €8.00 and many are gluten/wheat/sugar/yeast or dairy-free. Three choices of soup are served daily costing €2.50 each. There's a choice of five different sandwiches each day placed on different types of bread such as pitta, tomato bread, and bagel. A wide range of herbal teas and fair-trade coffee and a variety of organic juices are on offer.

A catering service is also on offer providing a wide selection of salads, main courses and desserts. You can order from any section as each dish is priced individually. If you wish to order for a complete dinner party, there's a buffet section to assist you in compiling a menu. As with the food in the restaurant, dishes are freshly prepared with the best ingredients. Café Fresh catering service uses organic flour, soya milk, teas, coffee, eggs, pulses and legumes and all food is g.m.o free.

Mary Farrell also teaches a vegetarian cookery course throughout the year. The courses comprise of 6 weekly lessons in basic vegetarian cuisine where special diets, allergies and nutrition are an intrinsic part of each class. All food is provided and at the end of each class everyone sits around a table and samples the food.

Vegetarianism is certainly on the increase with the numerous scares regarding BSE, foot and mouth and gmo products. It is the development of fresh and healthy food and living. Café Fresh recognises this and is the embodiment of vegetarianism and provides a healthy option for all.
