Café Bar Deli
Café Bar Deli is an unassuming pizza/pasta place on South Great Georges street where Bewleys used to be.

Café Bar Deli is owned by the Globe people, who now control everything (well almost) that enters their patrons' bodies on a Friday night. A good idea this - fill them with booze and waft nice food smells down the street. It's pointless to resist.

A personal favourite is the chicken Caesar salad with bacon, but it's primarily a place for the Italian staples. And the staples pass the test. The pastas are nicely filling and the pizzas are happily topped with freshly-cooked ingredients. And if you're a celiac, there's always good portions of fresh salads to keep the wolf from the door and the gluten from your mouth. The pizzas and pasta dishes cost around €10, while the salads are around half that.

It's retained the vivacious atmosphere of the previous lease-holder, although the clientele are now of the 'too-cool-for-school' Globe variety of pretty young things & we're not complaining about that. There's no booking, but they do operate a waiting list whereby you can put down your name and come back in twenty minutes or have a drink at the small bar, or indeed back at the Globe!
