O'Neills Pub on Suffolk Street serves a good carvery lunch.
You get mansize portions of all kinds of hot food. The regular hot meats are turkey, ham and lamb. With roast potatoes, mash, all kinds of cooked vegetables, you can get your Sunday dinner any day of the week. As per elsewhere, this feast won't leave much over from €10 euros (and that doesn't include a drink), but it's still one of the best bits of pub grub in Dublin.
On Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, the Carvery lunch is available from about midday until 3.30 or 4pm. After that an a la carte menu takes over. On Fridays, there's no food served after the carvery, due to the volume of liquid business. On Sundays, the carvery is served until 10 in the evening. There's also a sandwich for lunch where you can order all kinds of sandwiches, soups and jacket spuds.
As O'Neills has transmogrified over the years into a massive pub with five bars and lots of stairs, you'll always find somewhere to sit, while you shovel in the good stuff, but don't blithely arrange to meet someone here, without specifying where or you could lose your lunchbreak just looking for them.
