Trocadero

Located opposite the QV2 in the little restaurant strip on St. Andrew street, the Trocadero has long fashioned itself and been the favourite haunt of the Dublin theatre crowd. Many after-show parties have occurred within these hallowed walls. With Andrew's Lane Theatre across the street and the Olympia over the road, the Troc boasts a very reasonable and good pre-theatre menu. Large red velvet curtains are draped here and there, while the walls are festooned with autographed pictures of actors who've passed through over the years. In price terms, this is mid-range and the service is generally charming and prompt. The cuisine is international and it's best known for its steaks, lamb and fish. A nicely informal atmosphere reflects the bohemian clientele that the restaurant courts and attracts. The art deco bar provides a wide variety of cocktails.
