Dublin Butterfly House & Insect World is now open to the public.
Dublin Butterfly House is an excellent adventure for all the family. Kids and adults alike will enjoy exploring the tropical fantasy world and viewing the Butterfly gallery.
The tropical fantasy world presents a unique opportunity for all the family to view tropical butterflies in their natural habitat. Beautiful and rare butterflies including the Tailed Jay and the Fivebar Swordtail can be found alongside over twenty different and tropical species. There are over one thousand butterflies living, feeding and mating in the tropical Butterfly house. Visitors can touch the legs of butterflies and learn all there is to know about a butterfly's habits from their guide.
This magical world will also show the spectacular metamorphosis of the caterpillar transforming into a beautiful butterfly. If you arrive at the Butterfly House in the early morning you will be lucky enough to see butterflies emerging from their chrysalides and taking off for their maiden flight.
There is also an insect world full of exotic creatures and other insects for visitors to explore. There's Bert, the resident tarantula whose as big as a dinner plate and a Goliath Bird Eating spider as well as lots more tropical spiders to encounter. Visitors can enjoy the Avery where tropical birds are on display. Public tours run six days a week with the final tour starting at 4pm until the end of August.
Dublin Butterfly House and Insect World can be found in Swords, North Dublin on Harap Farm. Visitors can enjoy the grounds of the farm and there is ample room to park. There is a gift shop where kids and adults alike can purchase souvenirs from this magical world. Dublin Butterfly House offers a fun day out for all the family.
