A lot of columns in papers are taken up with the problem of children's eating habits and their related health problems.

Food Active is a summer camp that teaches children about the nutritional and health aspects of food, teaches them to prepare the food and facilities a number of sports activities to give their students a rounded understanding of a healthy lifestyle.

At Food Active, students learn about food, its preparation and cooking and the part it should play in their every day lives. Students gain valuable cooking experience with Meat, Fish, Salads, Vegetables, Pastries and Desserts as well as finding out about Food Awareness and Nutrition.

Food Active's cookery classes are supervised by three qualified chefs who give demonstration cooking classes, give advice on healthy eating and oversee excursions to places of culinary interest. The highlight of their day is when the students get to sit down and enjoy the two-course meal they cooked with the Food Active's chefs.

Food Active also features a number of sports activities including Soccer, Basketball, Rugby, Tennis, Table Tennis and Rounders. Tuition is provided by experienced sports professional and the course enables the students to experience for themselves the relationship between sporting activity, a balanced diet and a healthy life style.

Food Active also affords the chance to meet friends from other schools in the Dublin area, widen their social circles and learn the value of teamwork in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
