Area information

Within driving distance from Navan is the Newgrange Monument, attracting visitors from all over the world. This prehistoric burial site is in fact older than the pyramids of Egypt and one of the world's first great pieces of architecture. Virtually each significant aspect of Irish history from prehistoric times is associated with County Meath. Testimonies to this fact are the many historic monuments scattered throughout the county. Located in the centre of Trim, a town dominated by the remains of King John's Castle, is Trim Castle. This is a prehistoric monument with round towers and high crosses. The Royal County also features the heritage town of Kells, famous for its association with the Book of Kells, which is only a drive away from the hotel.

Located in Navan, in the heart of County Meath, the Ardboyne Hotel takes its name from its raised location on the banks of the River Boyne. 'Ard' is Gaelic for high or raised position.
