The hotel is situated in the former ‘Irish Driver Harris’ building. Great care has been taken by the new owners to preserve as much of the original building as possible. The striking stonework and rafters compliment the luxurious designer furniture and fittings.

Portovino is a newly renovated striking stone building with an elevated position overlooking the River Barrow. It has stunning views over New Ross and its outskirts. 10 beautifully appointed bedrooms are on the lower-ground floor. Some have river views and all are finely furnished. Portovino has an airy, spacious bar stretching across 2 floors. It is enhanced by high ceilings and tall glass windows. Two spacious balconies overlook the River Barrow. Portovino is open from breakfast time until the early hours of the morning when the lively bar serves draft beers, fine wines by the glass, cocktails and international bottled beers.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 8 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Service charge is included. City/tourist tax is included.
